Here’s an update to the following post about our Prayer Enrichment Workshop:
First of all, CD’s are available by downloading the order blank at this address: http://www.calhounchurch.org/PEW09CDOrderBlank0001.pdf
Also, we’ve heard wonderful comments from some who attended the Workshop:
“Words cannot express my appreciation for the Prayer Enrichment Workshop. Each speaker was excellent. The food was so good that I put on some weight!” -J.B.
“I can’t begin to tell you how I benefited from the Seminar. I will never be the same! You couldn’t have done a better job with your speaker line-up… cannot believe the effort of such a small congregation providing so many meals for days! Thank you, thank you!” -F.G.
So, thanks to all who attended – read more about the Workshop below:
Our recent 16th Annual Prayer Enrichment Workshop struck a powerful chord with those who came. The best way to describe it? The Holy Spirit made Himself known through the songs, prayers and messages.
This Workshop – always held on the second weekend in September here at Calhoun Church – emphasizes prayer and educates all who come in the deeper issues of spiritual formation. Check out these reasons why this year’s workshop was so successful:
Albert Lemmons challenged us (he always does) on Friday afternoon to learn how to win at spiritual warfare. And Friday night, he had a great “heart-to-heart talk” with us about seeking God without letting anything else get in the way. Saturday morning he challenged us again, pointing out that the logical mind can’t replace the work of our spirit in seeking God. A great question & answer time followed.
Mac & Mary Owen touched us with their victorious testimony of how God brought them out of a world of addiction and gave them a powerful ministry with Celebrate Recovery.
John Dobbs moved us with his touching story of the loss of their son in a tragic accident just before graduating high school. John had inspiring tips on how to pray from our weakness.
And Joe Almanza again amazed us with his insights into true minsitry, having been saved in prison after a life of organized crime. He has planted 20 churches in several cities, including some in Mexico. Although sick with a bad cold, he taught us on Saturday night and again on Sunday morning. As always, the Spirit moved as Joe spoke to us.
And to top it off, Johnathan Dobbs led us in powerful worship and praise. Those times together in praise bound us together in ways we’ll never be able to calculate.
We’re planning next year’s workshop for September 10-12, 2010. Hope to see you then!

es should he choose? And how would they ever get enough training and spiritual knowledge to do a decent job of replacing Christ!?
